Understanding the website structure of big domains

The structure of large, complex websites is not always that easy to understand. To help with this task, we now have a visualisation of hostnames and paths of all domains.

Especially large domains with a lot of URLs are often structured into different hosts and directories – useful from an SEO and user’s point of view. However, this does not necessarily make the analysis of them easier.

To demonstrate how websites are built up and where the clicks are focused the most we have added a new function in SISTRIX, which you can find after putting in a domain in the navigation on the left under “Website Structure“.

Website structure of "harley-davidson.com".

Made visually appealing with different colours, it shows how the organic clicks of the domain are distributed. Singular paths can be expanded with a click on the corresponding label.

After testing this feature for a while in SISTRIX Labs and improving it based on user feedback, it is now regularly available for everyone. Have fun giving it a try!
