SEO agencies and service providers who use Google’s identity to try and sell their services more easily have always been a problem for Google. Google is now, however, taking legal action against it.
In the US, Google this week filed lawsuits against a number of supposedly related companies that, according to the complaint , are running a “large-scale scam operation aimed at misleading small businesses and consumers for financial gain”. The companies, many of them with GVerifier or GHyper in their names, are using the Google name and brand to sell fake local reviews.
There are numerous posts on the Google support forums on this.
Amazon has shown in the past that large platforms can successfully take legal action against machinations and sued numerous review sellers.
