The December 2024 Core Update, announced on the 12th December, follows just days after the end of the November 2024 Core Update. This is the sixth major update of 2024 and as with all Core Updates, we will be analysing data and providing helpful statistics here in this article.

Google had not provided any information about which parts of the search algorithm will be improved with this core update.

Data, charts and examples
Four days after the announcement, some examples of winners and losers can be seen.
Among the early winners in the US data are pinterest.com and steampowered.com which both show a change in trend starting on the 15th of December. The same change in trend can be seen at bbc.com and, surprisingly for the US data, www.nhs.uk.
In the UK data there are two ecommerce domains with the same change in trend:
Some ecommerce and informational domains can, however, been seen taking a turn in the opposite direction:
Percentage losers can sometimes give us an insight into the focus of the Google Core Update.
As in the previous examples, the first changes were seen on the 15th December.
